638 PMK - Pneumechanical expanding shafts with lugs

The Model 638/PMK is recommended for unwinding and winding rolls with cores.

The body of the shaft is available in steel or aluminum, depending on the reel weight and the expansion lugs come in either steel or rubber covered depending upon core material and torque requirements. The journal ends are also available in a variety of steels and are always custom-made. Expansion is accomplished by one (or more) air activated pistons that mechanically engage the expandors by centering the core. Expansion can be spring-activated so as to grant core is gripped also in case of air leakage in the machine.
